About me!
Hello, my name is Emilian Sosa, and I proudly serve as the Chief Product Officer. Born and raised right here in McAllen, Texas, I graduated from James Nikki Rowe High School in May 2024. Currently, I'm a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a bachelor's degree in International Business with a minor in Sports Media, alongside a certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and Non-profit Management. Outside of my studies, you'll often find me playing music – my guitar is a constant companion as I jam to artists like Noah Kahan and Taylor Swift. I also have a deep love for cooking and exploring the diverse and vibrant dishes of my Mexican and Latin American heritage.
When I'm not in the classroom or the office, I'm an enthusiastic member of the Longhorn Hellraisers, the spirited official organization for Texas Athletics, where I wholeheartedly participate in game-day traditions. Additionally, I'm actively involved with Young Life in Austin, currently leading at Navarro High School in East Austin. I also enjoy exploring the scenic routes of the Rio Grande Valley and the Austin hills on my bike. My driving passion is to one day establish a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals who have lost their parents, guiding them towards their futures in college, careers, or military service. My daily motivation stems from my faith and the powerful lesson instilled in me by my mother, Erica Calderon: "Querer es Poder" – where there is power in wanting. Witnessing the resilience and ambition of students from minority backgrounds as they strive for a brighter future fuels my commitment to keep pushing forward, so that we can all rise together and build a stronger foundation for generations to come.
